Wait on DT and go LB/WR/CB first (Rd. 2 & 3)?

Looking at the depth chart, it might not be a bad idea to go Edgerrin Cooper in the 2nd round. If Texans can sign Xavien and Simmons, they've got more room to go bpa. I know some aren't very high on Xavien but he's a decent cb2 if he could be had on a cheap and short contract. Imagine E. Cooper, Pearsall, Max Melton as our first 3 picks. Would be huge upgrades at all starting positions and possible according to some top mocks. Texans could wait and go Leonard Taylor or Maason Smith in the 4th. Next year's draft is way more stacked with DT talent than this year and it might not be a bad idea to wait. Meanwhile a Leonard Taylor or Maason Smith could end up being a solid rotation piece with high upside. Bucky Irving or Will Shipley in the 4th, and Ainias Smith in the later rounds would add a lot of versatility to the RB and WR room too. This speculation stuff is fun and all but there's no way to know what Nick/DeMeco will do. There are bound to be more trades and signings including draft day moves. It's just good to know that whatever we come up with won't be nearly as good as what they'll cook up lol submitted by /u/rt9o |
