Volunteering near Pasadena/Houston?

Hi everyone – I'm interested in volunteering my time once a week to an organization that focusses on helping people in need of housing, or meals, etc.

I'd prefer a location near pasadena, clear lake, webster area, but I'm not opposed to driving a bit into Houston if the place is the right fit for me.

Does anyone have any good experience volunteering anywhere that helps people in this way? (My uncle was homeless before he died, hence the motivation)..

I've heard of StandUp For Kids – any others? Thank you all
