Visiting the medical center area, what is must have food in Houston?

I am staying in houston for a weekend and am asking what is must have food in ther hermann park area? We may be going to bayou bend too, not sure about that. But we are there to be in the medical center area of houston.

What are some must eat places?

I am allergic to pork, lamb, and soy. I know that takes bbq off the menu.

I have always wanted to try more authentic mexican food, particularly corn shell tacos.
