Video of small dog being stolen from elderly owner’s vehicle on Christmas Day (Spring area) (Updates)

Hi! This is footage of my Dad’s Boston terrier, Yogi, being stolen today (12/25) around noon from the Shell station at 535 FM 1960 Rd, Houston, TX 77073. A large reward is being offered for information leading to Yogi’s safe return, no questions asked.

My dad is in his 70s and has raised Yogi since he was a puppy. Yogi is a wonderful companion and an integral part of my Dad’s life. They were on their way to family Christmas when this occurred. We are all devastated, it’s been a long day, and Yogi has not yet been found, but I have some updates:

• ABC 13 interviewed my dad tonight for this story, expected to run tonight. I will post a link as soon as I get one.
• The police report enabled us to take this to the news media, and the police have taken the original footage to look over in attempt to ID the truck/plates. I am hopeful about the plates. We will continue searching for any footage from the surrounding areas that may be helpful.
• Thanks to a handful of kind Redditors who really know their trucks, I can estimate that the truck that Yogi was taken in is a ~2005 Chevy Silverado 2500hd quad cab, black or dark metallic paint, with 4×4 and towing package, aftermarket wheels (maybe black), and a small lift kit.
• The truck did not purchase gas. It appears they drove up, snatched Yogi, and then drove away. We have not yet located additional footage of the truck.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who has empathized, sent well wishes and given insight today. It’s been a shitty Christmas, no two ways about it, but the kindness and concern we’ve seen today has been a lovely reminder that most people are not heartless dog-stealing monsters.

We are so appreciative of anyone who can spread the word and keep an eye out for Yogi. Merry Christmas y’all. But for real, f**k the 2020s.
