Urgent: Loving Home Needed for Special Dog

After a year of searching, I am heartbroken to share that I need to find a forever home or foster for my sweet but challenging foster dog. She has been with me for about a year, and while I’ve worked hard to help her overcome her struggles, I am now at a point where I can no longer continue to care for her.

About Her:
She is incredibly playful, loving, and protective of her family. Once she bonds with you, she’ll be your most loyal companion. She thrives in a calm environment, preferably in a rural setting with little contact with strangers. She would do best as an only dog (though she currently lives with my permanent dog) because she values her space and can be reactive around other animals.

Challenges & Progress:
She is reactive toward strangers and other animals, but I’ve been working with her using counter-conditioning techniques to address this and she is slowly showing improvement. She has resource guarding tendencies with food and toys, but training has helped her improve in this area making her less reactive than when I initially began to foster her.She is not spayed, but I am willing to cover the cost of spaying as well as provide two sessions with her trainer to help her adjust to her new home.

What She Needs:
A patient, experienced adopter who understands her challenges and is willing to work with her.A quiet home with no other pets or children, where she can feel safe and thrive.
