Update from a few months ago

Hello again 🙂 I was here a few months ago, asking for help with finding places to live that were safe..etc. I was given so many places to call, apply for & check out. I was also asked by a few people for a future update. So here it is…

I called every one of the places I was given. I'm either not in danger enough, not needy enough or not low income enough..for some places. I'm on a waiting list for housing vouchers & placement. I've been to apartment locators, on a chance…yea, they have a whole list of places, BUT the apartments want 2-3x rent in income..or a cosigner. But I'm still trying for that..even looking past Houston. There just isn't much help for singlular, 47 yr old women..with no minor children..who still works. There is absolutely no help for anyone living in a motel.

I've been applying to different places, gotten some interviews. Even though being immunized, isn't mandated, I have been asked if I was quite a few times. After I say, No I'm allergic to ingredients used or just say plain no..I hear "ok, we have other applications to go through. We'll be in touch" which usually means, I'm not getting the job. Nobody has gotten back in touch.

I'm still waiting on disability to get me an answer. I did get sent to a few Drs, by them..so hopefully that will be answered soon on denial or approval. I did apply for snap. Since there is an income, I only get 14.00 a month..but I qualify for P-EBT, so I get an extra 200.00. That helps tremendously!

I got a medical card & have been able to see Drs about my health. Which leads me to a whole different thing. I've been feeling pain, sickness..etc off & on for awhile..but kinda blew it off, saying I'm working too hard/too much..

Monday, I was given a diagnosis of Stage 2 ovarian cancer. Yesterday, I went over treatment options, expectations..etc. Family was called. Close friends were told. I want to stay in Houston, since I know they have the best cancer care facilities & Drs.

I'm scared. I'm alone. In about 3 hrs, I'm going to be homeless too. I haven't worked since Sun night. Had my room paid up til this morning, but I haven't worked in a couple days, so I have to leave. I'm kind of low on gas, so I'm looking for a safe place to park..by a restroom, that I will possibly be safe to sleep at, if need be. I avoid the Walmarts, in my area..but does Walmart let you sleep in their parking lot here?

My car is still in need of maintenance. Which there was a person who said they can help me with repairs. If you see this, will you message me? I figured out, it wasn't driver error with the tires constantly needing replacement..it actually is the roads, but also it was the used tire place..selling crappy tires. I found a better place, since.

I'm still working Ubereats & Instacart. Until something greater comes along..I still have so many questions, things to say..but this long already.

Any safe locations? I have 1/4 tank of gas, so can't get too far. I don't know safest locations, because I breeze through areas, so much. Only from what I read in the news or something..
