Unique bars in houston

I recently saw an ad for a bar in the Czech Republic that was a psychoanalysis bar. I wanted to know if there were any cool bars like that in Houston, or a similar level of unique. It'll be my first time going to a bar, as I don't go out much–I don't know if that changes the recommendations. Hopefully somewhere on the safe side, since I don't know the downtown area well, and I'll most likely go at night.
