UH waitlist – is there anything that can be done?

i was put on the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work weightlist for the fall and was wondering if anyone in Houston has had the experience of advocating in person of getting in at UH, or what your experience has been like of being weightlisted and deciding to further advocate for yourself?
