Uber to and from MMP

Hey guys, I’ll be visiting from out of town tomorrow and staying with a family member in a suburb outside of Houston. To be able to drink I’d like to Uber to and from Minute Maid. I know there’s surge pricing so I’ve read you can walk a few blocks away to get a ride much faster and cheaper. Do you guys see any issues with this plan? Is it relatively safe near the park?

Also any good food spots you recommend after the game?
