Tytus Howard stepped up against Micah Parson and the OL allowed only 1 sack
It wasn't perfect but there were a lot of positives and improvements over the past few weeks. I think OL can continue to build on this and CJ will get more comfortable and settle down with this pass protection. You can tell he's not used to this pocket and there were a few miscues but he'll find his confidence again with games against Titans and Jags coming up. Good to see him spreading the ball and getting Metchie involved too. Metchie's big weak point is blocking but he made a lot of key plays yesterday including that fake punt stop. His route running is really good. I think he picked up a lot from Diggs in the offseason and early season and will continue to improve in that role.
Biggest concern for me is still the o-line and sus playcalling but I think it's getting better. Texans still looked flat in the 2nd half despite the score. Defense and smoothed brain Mike McCarthy helped the offense a lot by giving them really good field position multiple times. That's good complementary football though I guess lol. At least the weak points are starting to track in the right direction. Good teams don't peak until later in the season and if Texans can continue to improve week over week, they should be in good shape going into the playoffs.
Texans can make it to their late bye (Week 14) with a 10-4 record (TEN, JAC, MIA) with C. Harris and WAJ returning to close out against BAL, KC, TEN. WAJ should be back sooner though. He should be back for Titans this week or Jags next week. Lassiter should be back next week too. Stingley once again proved he's an elite CB in this league. Really excited about the future of this secondary. This defense is going to be good for a long time. Texans are going to have a championship caliber defense going into playoffs and defense wins championships.
