Typewriter Repair?

Received a Corona Smith Electra Automatic, that was my grandmother's, for Christmas. I'd like to get it tuned up a bit but seems there's no repair shops in town? Does anyone know of any or of any enthusiasts I can pick the brain of on how to DIY?

Seems there was a shop, Universal Typewriter Repair, but as far as I can tell it's been closed for a few years now.
