Types of bugs/roaches in Houston

Hi everyone 🙂 I’m looking for a little bit of advice/help. I’ve lived in Houston for some time now but I am originally from the Midwest. I live in an apt complex and occasionally (every couple of months) we will get the big roach looking bugs in our place near our front door or they will come up a drain. Our complex does pest control and we plug up our drains now but they will still occasionally come in near our front door. I’ve looked into it some and I’ve heard they are called tree roaches. Is that correct? And do y’all reccomend spraying the door with bug spray frequently or are there other ways to deter them? We are also looking into finding something to plug up the front door too so they aren’t cracks in the door for them to slip in. Any advice is welcome. Thank you 🙂
