Trying to remember name of beach in Galveston

I remember a couple years ago my buddy took me to this part of Galveston where there wasn’t a lot of people. I remember you had to pay $5 in cash for parking at a ticket booth. There was a person inside the ticket booth. There also was a giant cargo ship a few hundred feet from the shore from where we were sitting. There were also a few beach houses that sat upon a hill not too far that area. I’d appreciate if anyone could please tell me the name of this place.. I’d really like to visit there again soon before summer is over
