Trying to figure out transport fro a dog from Houston TX to Fort Collins CO.

Fell in love with a dog in Texas and I live in Colorado… I know, I know but his eyes rekindled a fire in my soul I thought was gone forever.

The shelter will adopt him out to me but they can't put him on hold(1000% understand that)

My first thought was to fly to Houston and drive back with him. But I can't find a rental car or even standard U-haul truck to get us back home right now.

Last resort would be flying back with him but I'd only be able to fly Alaska and we'd have to layover in Seattle. I thought I'd check here and see if anyone had any other ideas?

Ive reached out to a couple of local rescues in town, and I know they pull dogs from where he is currently but I haven't heard back just yet. Fingers crossed still.

I know it's ridiculous and over complicated and that there are plenty of dogs in Colorado who need homes. But I lost my best friend this year and there is something calling me to this dog in particular. I do believe it's her. Where there's a will there's a way!
