Trying to change my breaker box. Electrician wants to charge North of 6k. Does that sound right to y’all?

Hey guys, my breaker box is failing during this heat wave affecting the reliability of my AC. I had an electrician come out and quote 6k plus. Has anyone experienced this or knows if they can confirm that this is the average price of changing a breaker box in Houston?
