Trendy Dinner Spots!

I’m going to be in town soon with a friend who is a huge foodie and all about the hottest new thing. I’m from Texas and I have my Austin and Dallas staples, but don’t spend as much time in Houston, so I’m hoping I can get some good recs on a spot we can go for dinner?? We’ll mainly be in the downtown/midtown area but really just looking for any trendy place with good food… Doesn’t have to be super fancy or anything just looking for a Houston staple!
