Trees and Landscaping

If you have recently bought a new home or recently had landscaping done, please check your trees to ensure they are properly planted and preserved. We recently bought a new home and the existing tree is damaged due to mulch build up around the base; we are trying to save it but we're not sure if it will live. A new tree was planted but it's planted way too deep. The issue with both of these trees is that the roots are not getting proper oxygen. I didn't know this until an Arborist came by to diagnose our sick tree, but landscapers do not know this at all and I'm worried about all of the sick and dying trees out there in Houston unbeknownst to their owners.

Also, please spread the word in your local neighborhoods, especially if there are a lot of new builds!
