Tree Removal Rates

What kind of tree removal rates have y'all seen recently? I've got a 100+ foot tall pecan tree that needs to come down and the first quote I got was about $7,700, not including stump grinding. It's relatively close to the house, which could be influencing the pricing as well. I had a 60'-80' tall water oak removed last year for $3,500 including stump grinding.
