Transportation assistance

Hi y’all,

My best friends dad just got diagnosed with cancer over the holidays and she’s an only child and single mom juggling work and kids and being her parents caretaker. Her parents are both on the Gold Card and her dad has appointments at Ben Taub, LBJ, and MD Anderson on the west side. Does anyone know of any programs that can help get them to and from their appointments?

(They have not been able to qualify for Medicaid so they’re on the Gold Card now)

I’ve literally exhausted my pto helping with their appointments and she’s just trying to not lose so many hours/pay driving them to and from his appointments.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Edit: they are located in fort bend just off 99!
