Transition After Military Service

Yoo, Hello fellow Houstonians, Just wanted to make a post to hopefully get insight, advice, inquiry, and information regarding transition to Houston after the military; I’m from the city and actually DEP’d out in 2017, however that was when I was 18 years old and obviously a lot has changed since that age as I am 24 years old now, I plan on transitioning after my military service in 2025 and wanted to gain insight on the city, what has changed?

What should I be wary about? Most importantly- my goals are to hopefully buy a home, help my mother run and establish a food truck, but importantly work with the youth as a substitute teacher while pursuing my bachelor’s in Psychology to do further leading of the youth. What’s the ins and outs of Houston I should be informed of that’ll help me reach my goals? Is there anyone I may reach out to professionally here that’ll keep me on my Ps and Qa? What benefits will I be entitled to as a potential veteran?
