Traffic at IAH last night

I went to IAH last night to pick up a friend who was coming in at Gate E. I arrived at the cell phone parking lot at 7:15 without any trouble. She texted at 7:45 that she was through customs and had her luggage and was heading for the doors, so I pulled out of the cell phone lot and started driving towards the gate.

Half a mile later, I stopped because there was a HUGE line of stopped cars. It took over two hours (and several almost panic attacks!) to go through the traffic at Gate D & Gate C before finally getting to E.

They are doing major construction, and the lanes merge and then merge again and then….. and the signage is very confusing, so it is very very stressful.

So… if you are going to IAH to Gates D, C, or E, plan extra extra time. I'm grateful she was arriving and not departing – the departing folk were stuck in the same traffic. Or, even better, go to Gate B and take the shuttle to the other gates.
