Trade my car for a motorcycle? any advice for a LA native.

edit: forgot to mention that it isnt my first time having a motorcycle as my only transportation, but it will be in Houston. Ive driven motorcycles out here before and know about the vrazy drivers and not say im invincible but i do ride like I am. I know anything can happen safety wise but its something im willing to do because i am a motorcycle enthusiast.

Hey so I stay in montrose, literally stay 5 mins from work and pretty much everything. I have a car right now which totals me to about $600 a month. Since I stay by everything I feel as if I really dont need this car. It has its advantages obviously compared to a motorcycle but I would be able to save about $400/500 alone on vehicle payments and gas a month if I was to just get a bike.

I dont have a washer/dryer in my unit which would be a hassle due to going to a laundry mat, and also getting groceries. Both of those problems are not as huge because i rarely wash and I eat twice a day for free at work, and eat pretty healthy so refrigerator nevers fully stocked with things that expire.

Any advice from houston residents on this..
