Trade Deadline/"We need bats"?

Here, and largely on Twitter (not that the baseball IQ is overwhelming over there), there are a lot of people saying bats are our biggest need, including this lazy SI article. All of which largely just point to team ERA.
I don't fully understand the thinking here- just because our offense is struggling doesnt mean that trading for a hitter solves the issue. Our studs are largely the ones who have been slow to get going/inconsistent and lineups are taking a long time to optimize. What position are you upgrading? Nothing in the infield is touchable (no, replacing Abreu isn't realistic, even before the last two games, like it or not, not this year) and Diaz is the change at catcher that improves the offense. Brantley by all reports is on his way, Tucker isn't being replaced, and let's assume by the grace of god that Yordan will be fine so DH isnt changing.

CF is literally the only reasonable position to even discuss and yet, Meyers has been very solid and then we have Julks and Dubon as depth who have both been good/very good. Chas is the trade piece I believe unfortunately (love the human, but has the most holes in his bat I think).

Meanwhile, our starting rotation going to the playoffs (assuming no LMJ) is Valdez, Javier, Brown, ???, ???

France has been way more than we could've asked for, but its reasonable to assume it won't be this sweet in the playoffs. Bielak has been better than expected, but I have even less faith and wouldn't be comfortable at all with a series on the line with him on the rubber. Blanco TBD to me, probably a good pen option in playoffs. 1 or 2 prospects could be interesting (Arrighetti??), but a trade for a #2/3 guy with ceiling (Sonny Gray, Corbin Burnes, Lucas Giolito) or taking a flyer on a cheaper guy (German Marquez, Paul Blackburn, Brad Keller) giving up Chas and a couple of non-elite prospects (Lee and an OF not named Gilbert maybe), would be huge for us imo and allows us to push France/Bielak to the pen for a long arm and can piece together bullpen games after a 4 man rotation.

Bullpen help is always great and any team could use it, but as it stands, it would be a luxury and is not a NEED for top prospects, imo. Especially if a new SP can push a guy or two to the pen.

Does anyone actually have a realistic trade for offense that noticeably boosts our team over a SP and is worth the assets?
