Tow truck driver fatally struck by vehicle on 290 near BWY8 yesterday – a friend of mine is an eyewitness.

A tow truck driver attempting to load a vehicle was fatally struck by a car yesterday. Here's HCSO's tweet about it. A friend of mine (and his coworker) were driving behind the at-fault vehicle and are eyewitnesses. He stopped at the scene to render aid, and identified himself as a witness when law enforcement arrived. Perplexingly, the investigators didn't ask for his information; he took it upon himself to give them his business card before leaving.
