Toll Booths: The Bane of Houstonian Speed
Driven far and wide around the US. Have experienced plenty of toll booths. Houstonians, though, display a particular phenomenon when it comes to them despite our world-renowned reckless driving behavior.
We slow down. Some of us do, at least. I'm talking EZ-tag lanes, no traffic ahead, no hazards to be seen. So, to those who do: why? What mystic, hidden force clamps those brake pads down when nearing a toll booth? What is it about a toll booth that makes you second guess is the speed limit really 65?
