To all the folks wanting to winterize their pipes, go for it.

Been seeing lots of posts saying dont worry about it, its not necessary. Ive had the same pipe bust at the coupling in 2 different freezes over the past few years. So ive started turning off the main line in the front yard, and draining my pipes. It hurts nothing to do this. If you or your family have to use the bathroom, just go outside and turn it back on for a few mins and then turn it back off and drain again. It beats spending the day fixing them or having to pay for a plumber. Save urself some money and just play it safe.
