Tips for treating mosquito bites!

Someone earlier posted about a wild amount of mosquitos around their house, and it made me want to share how I treat my mosquito bites. This summer I finally figured out the best way to help the itching.

  1. As soon as you can, clean the bite with rubbing alcohol. I've noticed SUCH a difference with the itching from this alone.

  2. Dab the bite with lidocaine aloe vera. I discovered a few months ago that the aloe we have contains lidocaine. Complete game changer.

  3. If it still itches a lot in the next 10 minutes, repeat the first two steps. I usually only have to do it once, but sometimes the bite is persistent and I have to do it up to 3 times.

  4. Repeat as necessary until the bite heals.

I've tried benadryl itch cream. Never lasted. The aloe vera with lidocaine is where it's at when it comes to not only stopping the immediate itching, but shortening the amount of time until the bite heals (and therefore itches).

Hope this helps some of y'all! Please share your own tips if you have any!
