Tips for driving in houston?

Hello, I'm from college station, and a friend is arriving at Wiliam P Hobby airport at 9am, was just curios if anyone had any tips for driving in houston that would help me out? I get anxiety when it comes to driving in big cities, Any tips/knowledge that would help me is greatly appreciated!
