Thoughts on Dorian Thompson-Robinson (DTR) – UCLA’s QB.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson was the quarterback for the UCLA Bruins football team. Here's a draft analysis of his strengths, weaknesses, and potential as an NFL prospect:

Strengths:

Dual-threat ability: Thompson-Robinson is a very mobile quarterback who can make plays with his legs. He has good speed and agility, which allows him to escape pressure and extend plays. Arm talent: He has a strong arm and is capable of making all the throws required at the next level. He can deliver accurate passes downfield and has shown the ability to fit the ball into tight windows. Good size: Thompson-Robinson is listed at 6'2" and 205 pounds, which is a good size for an NFL quarterback. Toughness: He has shown the ability to play through injuries and take hits without letting it affect his play.

Weaknesses:

Inconsistent accuracy: While he has shown the ability to make accurate throws, he can be inconsistent at times. He needs to improve his consistency and accuracy, especially on shorter passes. Decision making: Thompson-Robinson can sometimes make questionable decisions with the football, leading to turnovers. He needs to improve his decision making and not force throws into tight coverage. Pocket presence: While he is mobile, he can sometimes struggle with feeling pressure in the pocket and making the right decisions under pressure. He needs to improve his pocket presence and awareness.

Overall, Thompson-Robinson has the physical tools to be a successful NFL quarterback, but he needs to improve his consistency, decision making, and pocket presence. With proper development and coaching, he could potentially be a mid to late round pick in the NFL draft. I do not believe that Chip Kelly did any favors with a lot of wonky offensive calls which certainly hampered statistics and overall development.

What are your thoughts on picking him up in the 6th or 7th round as a developmental scout team quarterback? What also makes this quite attractive is that all the reports about his character are stellar. Great kid etc.
