Thoughts after the Bucs game

So I just got home from the 4 hour drive. Been watching the Texans since I started watching football. Truly a die-hard. And truly a student of the game.

All of that said, I am disappointed as many others are. I am NOT calling for anyone to be fired, and I still am drinking the Kool-Aid. However we need to talk about our boy Meco.

First issue, the game. Strictly running nickel defense and cover 4 soft shell is not working. The whole stadium knew last week that Nacua was gonna get the ball on the game sealing play. Guess what we did to adjust? Nothing. Tonight against the Bucs the whole stadium knew it was going to be a run play between the tackles. Guess what we did to prepare? Nothing. Meco coaches the hell out of our guys Monday-Saturday. But when the game starts, he does not adjust. That part of his game is lacking.

Second issue, the people. It’s absolutely inexcusable that he kept Slowik around a second year. We can hate on Bobby, but it’s Demeco that hired him as his OC and kept him a second year. And now he hired Bobby 2.0 to be our new OC. Dude has to be a better evaluator when it comes to filling out his staff.

Third issue, penalties. Why are we so undisciplined year after year? Falls on the HC.
