This Team Builds Our Character

I realized I’ve gotten much better at not caring about wins or losses after watching this team for a while. The wins are painful, the losses are terrible, and you are always left wondering why did I waste my time after we lose to the next good team. But it’s the personal journey that counts. A third of the season in, I’ve slowly stopped biting my nails in the fourth quarter. I no longer anxiously await the results of our drive. It is inner peace as Master Oogway described it. And I’d like to thank the Texans for providing me with it. Last season I was either high or crashing after watching rockets games. This season, the first game they lost in double overtime? Whatever, it was a good, fun game with laughable moments, and we showed decent stuff. And I’ll treat the Texans the same way: enjoy the players grow, turn the TV off and enjoy sunshine once they go four and out again, and watch the weeks pass by. Attachment to your team’s results steals the joy from everything, I’m not holding any expectations from now on. Go Texans, FTC, FTT, FTJ, and just play the best you can next week.
