This last week I visited Houston for the 1st time. I have thoughts.
Let me start this off by saying I really enjoyed the amenities of the city. The zoo, restaurants, and theaters were great! Now for the things I noticed.
-
The city is incredibly dirty and I’m curious if anyone has some explanations for it. I travel all over and I’ve never seen so much trash thrown around the streets.
-
Drivers on the interstate are a mixed bag. I had some pass me going at least 115 in a Bentley while in a sharp turn. I wasn’t ready for that.
-
The overpasses lack enough distance to pick up speed.
-
Why are houses worth 150k literally sitting next to house worth 1M+? I mean some were very nice, but I couldn’t understand why there was no consistency.
-
Last one. Is crime bad? because many areas felt “iffy” to be around.
I don’t want to seem like a hater, but I just expected more based on what I had randomly heard about Houston. A city I will revisit!
