things to do in Houston while it’s colder than normal for people who’ve seen the usuals already.

Hi all:

I have some guests in town who have been here numerous times before, usually in the spring or fall. With the current cold weather through the weekend, I was looking for some ideas of things to do during the day that might be interesting. We've done a lot of things like the Texas Flight Museum and NASA, I think we did the off-shore drilling museum once (lol), so it doesn't have to be super-unique even to Houston, just something to get out of the house. We've done the natural history museum, the butterfly garden, etc, we did Moody Gardens twice. They aren't into modern art or really any art, so MFAH / Menil / Rothko don't work.

So far I've come up:

  • Van Goh Experience. I went and thought it was pretty cool so that could work.

  • a movie.

  • Dave & Busters or similar

  • thought about the BBQ cookoff but I think it's pretty cold

  • rodeo parade, same weather concerns

  • kemah, still pretty cold

Any thoughts? Thanks!!
