Mark Normand @ Houston Improv The extremely funny Mark Normand has six shows this weekend with everything but Sunday sold out. I would highly recommend going if you have the chance.
Ongoing – Undersea Discovery @ Houston Zoo Take a journey through the ocean to see animatronic marine creatures in an exhibit never before seen in the U.S. Experience the ocean from the rocky coast to the deepest sea and observe some of the most amazing marine creatures in the world, right here in Houston.
Ongoing – MC Escher Virtual Realities exhibit @ MFAH – The MFAH hosts the largest and most comprehensive exhibition of works by M.C. Escher ever presented. Virtual Realities features more than 400 prints, drawings, watercolors, printed fabrics, constructed objects, wood and linoleum blocks, lithographic stones, sketchbooks, and the artist’s working tools.
Ongoing – Dreher Masterworks @ – HMNS Created by four generations of masters from the Dreher family in Idar-Oberstein, Germany these exquisite pieces are brought to life using ruby, sapphire, aquamarine, topaz and other rare gemstones.
Ongoing – Leandro Erlich @ MFAH Seeing Is Not Believing features two of Erlich’s most iconic installations: Bâtiment (Façade) and Le cabinet du psy (The Psychoanalyst’s Office). These immersive, room-size environments and a selection of additional works span the career of the acclaimed Argentinean artist, whose psychological subversion of the everyday seems to defy the basic laws of physics while challenging your sense of balance, space, and the absolute.
Ongoing – Disney’s Frozen: The musical You already know what Frozen is! Brought to life by Oscar-winning composer and lyric team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, the production received critical acclaim on Broadway for the soaring score and dramatic and beautiful stagecraft. Garnering the Tony nominee for Best Musical in 2018 the stage musical harnesses the fun, love, and wow-factor of the 2013 movie in all its glory, and then adds some!
Ongoing – The Sound of Music @ The George Theater The A.D. Players presents the iconic musical written by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein, The Sound of Music, at the George Theater in Uptown.
