All weekend – Festival of films from Iran @ MFAH This landmark edition includes a timely focus on the experiences of women in Iran. All films are presented in Persian with English subtitles. Festival ticket $10.

Ongoing – Alberto Giacometti Exhibition @ MFAH An ensemble of 60 masterpieces highlight legendary sculptor's Alberto Giacometti’s most important creative achievements. Tickets include general admission.

Ongoing – Golden Worlds Exhibition @ MFAH Showcasing the diversity and brilliance of ancient Colombian cultures, through figurative ceramics, ceremonial and ritual items, feather works, textiles, metal works, and historical documents, Golden Worlds invites visitors into a cultural dialogue that spans both space and time.

Ongoing – Jennifer Steinkamp: The Seasons Exhibition @ MFAH Jennifer Steinkamp has transformed the landscape of contemporary art with her profoundly beautiful light-based installations that celebrate the ebb and flow of the natural world.

Ongoing – Wall Drawing Series: Mel Bochner @ Menil Drawing Institute The Menil Drawing Institute is proud to work with artist Mel Bochner on the fourth installment of the museum’s ephemeral wall drawing series. Continuously succeeding to blend traditional compositional devices with Abstract Expressionism, Bochner stands out as a one-of-a-kind artist whose art strives to make us more attentive to the unspoken codes that underpin our engagement with the world.

Ongoing – Walter De Maria: Boxes for Meaningless Work Exhibition @ Menil Highlighting De Maria’s varied and innovative approaches to media and scale, the exhibition includes a large group of conceptual drawings and photography, sculpture related to the development of the artist’s innovative land art projects of the 1970s, as well as examples of his sound and film work.

'From China with Love' Concert @ MFAH Rienzi @ 5:30PM Inspired by Chinese artifacts from the museum's collection, this concert highlights music from 17th- and 18th- century European composers and their imaginations of China.

SATURDAY – 2023 Lunar New Year Festival @ Asia Society Texas Center @ 10:30AM The 27th Texas Lunar Festival will be held from 10:30am-4:30pm, with lots of activities that celebrate culture and heritage of communities from all across Southeast Asia.

SAT & SUN – Year of the Rabbit Celebration @ Viet Hoa Center @ 11AM Celebrate the Lunar New Year with back-to-back days of festiviteis, including appearances by city officials, red envelope ceremonies, dancing and music, lion dance performances, and much more.

SUNDAY – Fried Rice Cook-Off @ The Phoenix on Westheimer @ 12PM – The 6th Annual Lunar New Year Festival & Fried Rice Cook-Off will be a unique chance to try different delicious interpretations of the classic dish, accompanied by ping pong tournament, bouncy house, and other family-friendly activities.

SATURDAY – Lunar New Year @ Houston Zoo @ 9AM Celebrate Lunar New Year with the Houston Zoo! The special event includes a Dragon Dance performance, ambassador animal meet and greets, and other exciting events!
