There’s got to be a better way to get home

I drive from the south side of the medical center to Katy every evening. Google keeps taking me up 610 through the galleria. I can save a little bit of time if I go West Park, but I really don't want to be paying tolls 5 days a week. Does anyone have any advice on how to get around that Galleria traffic on 610? Once I get onto I-10 I'm well aware there's no curing that blight, but to basically do it twice because of 610 is starting to drive me mad.
