There is a decent chance Kareem Jackson’s suspension causes us to lose a 3rd Round Pick and instead get a 7th.

As it stands, Kareem Jackson is valued in the 80’s, which would be a 3rd round value. This though is based off of a projected full season. With two games out now, he will definitely lose value, and being in the 90s would put him at a 4th round value instead of a 3rd.

With how comp picks work, basically you cancel out any lost free agents with any gained free agents who have an equal or greater round value. As it stands currently, we have no gained free agents valued as a 3rd rounder, meaning we would end up with the full value picks for both Mathieu and Jackson.

If however, Kareem now slides to a 4th round value, this would make Bradley Roby, valued as a 4th rounder, cancel out this loss. The next lost free agent we would now be assigned a comp pick for would be… Kendall Lamm. Valued for sure as a 7th rounder.

This would be brutal at a time where we have severely lessened draft capital, but there is a strong chance that two missed games will indeed move the needle enough on Kareem’s value to end with this result.
