Theft at storage unit facility “Extra Space Storage”
| |
I got my stuff stolen (they left a desk and foam behind 🙄) at Extra Space Storage which was formerly known as “Life Storage” at the facility in the Atascocita location off of Atascocita Rd (6603 Atascocita Road, Humble, TX 77346), my lock was swapped by someone that works there or has access to the locks they sell there so it looks like no forced entry. Apparently this is something that people do so that the insurance denies your claim, like what the f!!! I went to go and look for some items only to find my key not working for the lock, which I bought there. They had the same type of lock on there but it wasn’t my lock, meaning someone stole my stuff and swapped it!! Upon looking at other reviews it looks like different people experienced the same thing and at one point there were 10 that were targeted at the same time on a weekend at this location?! Some people finding their items stolen later, why did no one get notified about this?! They made sure they changed ownership multiple times and notified about it but can’t tell customers there was multiple thefts happening so that they can come check their unit?!!!! Even manager mysteriously leaving according to other comments, wth is going on here! There are a TON of storage facilities all over Houston under this same company so if you have a storage and haven’t checked it in a longggg while, this is your sign!!! Who knows how many others under this crooked business are being targeted. Management is saying it’s an inside job and police are saying there are checks that are in place to check locks, I got an officer who has past experience working at one. This is absurd and a huge storage corporation that should have safety measures in place, something bigger is happening at this place! I’m scared it’s going to be difficult to make a case because they’re saying I don’t know exactly when it happened and that there’s no signs of force entry. They only have cameras on the door entries, which apparently they used to have them in the hallways in the past. This is totally premeditated and not right! submitted by /u/Enough_Bluebird137 |
