The Texans organization is immoral
Im gonna be brutally honest – f**k mixing religion and business and f**k Cal McNair – how can you have Easterby anywhere near the team and hold team prayers, team wakes, wtf is this? The same dude spies on our players and is a character check guy? Imagine if your job had someone like this, how would you feel?
If nothing changes, I don’t see how us fans should stand for this. For the first time, I am ethically against whats happening. James Harden wanted out for basketball reasons, and he took some of the blame on his way out (he stated as much in his farewell letter). If any of our Texans players wanted out, I would fully support them. Deshaun and everybody else has done nothing wrong. If I was a player, i would want out too. Imagine having someone preach to you about the holiness of this and that and then spy on you privately. I would want out.
Finally, if we don’t agree with the morality of this situation, why would we support the team? I have only supported the Houston teams my whole damn life and I am a die hard Houstonian who is proud about it. But I feel like the moral ramifications are too high here that I couldn’t support the team. Combine that with anger and distrust and just overall sadness, I think its fair to say most of us will find a new team if Deshaun leaves. I would like to hear the counterpoint for staying a fan of this team (lol please try to convince us).
This subreddit is full of people who aren’t “casual” fans because we are literally a community who are passionate enough to have a place to discuss Texans football. If you leave, it doesn’t make you a casual.
