The Texans had informal talks with Chip Kelly

- the team had conversations with Kelly, but not a formal interview
- they indicated to him they were interested and according to a source close to Kelly he showed some interest, too
- if the team really wanted him over the other candidates then McNair "would have no problem making it happen" ($$$) – according to sources
- DeMeco Ryans liked other candidates, too, and "didn’t think there was much separation between the options" (direct quote from the Chronicle)
- Caserio was "high on Caley"
- so ultimately the decision was made that Chip Kelly wasn’t worth $6 million
