The Texans Control this draft and why you should expect BIG moves.

Houston controls this draft in every way.

Here we are less than a week before the draft and GM's, Analyst, Texans insiders, etc have no idea what Houston will do. I think we have seen 5/6 scenarios just in the last week.

Arizona, who has been very leaky to the media about trading back has not found a suitor and won't until the Texans make their move.

Lance Z who was dialed in to the Texans last draft has mentioned Wilson, Anderson, Stroud

Ian Rappaport who was on Demeco early has maintained Stroud or Young at 2.

What do we actually know:

Coaches were told in the interview process that the team planned to use the number 2 pick on a QB.

Demeco Ryans has recently mentioned they like QB's at the top of this draft.

Houston is doing its due diligence on Suitors for pick 2 as they should?

Houston has called about Pick number 3 in the draft.

What other teams want:

Arizona has reportedly opened the phone lines for a trade(they seem interested on a move back in the draft). So who are their suitors?

Position 4,7,8,11 are looking for franchise QB's.

There is a solid shot, that Picks 2,3,4 will be QB's if the Will Levis love is true.

Higher potential Scenarios:

  • Texans take their QB at 2
  • Texans trade back to 4 for potential QB(Highly doubt due to bidding war at 3) or Defensive player
  • Texans trade up from 12 to 5 for coveted defensive player(Seahawks history of draft capital over first round picks: Earl Thomas best pick drafted mid first)

Least Likely Scenarios:

  • Texans take defensive player at 2.
  • Texans trade from 12 to 3.
  • Texans take Hooker at 12

Due to the draft and high variable differences between teams QB draft boards, the Texans would be doing a huge disservice to themselves by going defense at 2.

Thursday's expectation: Fireworks.
