The Soul and the Man
I had the absolute honor to video chat with Ibraim Nascimento for Houston City Beat “Creators”. If you don’t know Ibraim, let me introduce you to him. He’s Afro-Brazilian artist from the city of Cachoeira, Bahia in Brazil. Ibraim has a successful career as an artist and he’s exhibited his work throughout Brazil and the United States. To look at the creations from Ibraim is to reach deep within your soul and touch the culture and traditions of Brazil and the journey of a man that inspires his audience to live an exceptional life. As an artist, his subjects range from adults to children and cover the present day social issues we face as a global community and the roots of Brazilian religion steeped in Catholicism and Ifa. One of his favorite things to do is create live paintings which you can find on his Instagram and Facebook accounts. Ibraim also loves teaching children the art of capturing moments of thought on canvas.Â
I hope you enjoy the video chat with Ibraim. My mission is to help creative Houstonians spread the message about the things they create, whether it’s music, art, theatre, dance, etc.Â
