The plan for Mancini and Vasquez?

Has anyone heard what the plan is for these two guys? Surely they weren’t brought over to be bench guys right?

Both players were on pace to be .260-.270 hitters with 80+ rbi.

I think it’s pretty clear those are everyday players. Why does it seem Vasquez is definitely a backup and Mancini is being used in a Diaz role?
