The Meaning of Tank

I think many people, especially Houston Texans fans, have forgotten the meaning of 'tanking'.

Tanking is when a team is purposefully losing to attain a higher draft position.

The Texans are not doing this with purposefulness in any way, shape, or form. They are simply a heinously dysfunctional organisation from top to bottom. So, if you feel they're 'tanking', then by all means, proceed to live in that world. I understand it's easier to digest if you believe such things as it would somewhat excuse the personnel decisions and player performances.

Unfortunately for us, they're not tanking at all.
