The fall and rise of Cal McNair
I've been following sports for a very long time (I'm almost 50) and I don't think I've ever seen an owner turn around their fortunes and public persona more quickly than Cal. I mean, think about just 2 years ago: He was widely considered an idiot 'Tommy-Boy' type owner who spent his time playing video games in his office on the floor, he had a preacher essentially running high-level operations of a professional football team, and worst of all for fans, he didn't seem to give a damn about any of it. Now, he's feted as one of the coolest and best owners in professional football. I mean, I feel like Hannah had a lot to do with it, and obviously the recent success of the team helps, but I do wonder: which of these personas is the 'real' Cal McNair?
