The eve before pitcher and catcher’s report: One-ish thing on every player at major league spring training

Bryan Abreu: Abreu had the 8th most valuable slider in all of baseball, opponents had a .560 OPS against him

Spencer Arrighetti: in the 110 innings after his first four starts arrighetti had a 3.52 ERA with a .642 OPS against. His season totals were instead 4.40 ERA and .679 OPS against. Also despite being born in Albuquerque, he went to high school at Cinco Ranch. He is adding a sinker to his arsenal

Brandon Bielak: his splits actually flipped in the minors in 2023. Major league splits: .790 OPS vs RHB, .853 OPS vs LHB. In the Minors: .819 OPS vs RHB and .783 OPS vs LHB.

Ronel Blanco: Despite having a pretty good Slider (44th), according statcast Blanco's four-seamer is one of the ten worst four-seamers and 15 worst pitches in baseball.

AJ Blubaugh: Blubaugh impressed at the Arizona Fall League, He posted a 2.25 ERA, with a 12.8 K/9 in a limited sample size. RHB had a .666 OPS against him in the minors

Hunter Brown: Brown had a xFIP of 3.52 and a high .330 BABIP better times are likely on the horizon for Brown. He also had the third worst curveball in baseball. He is also working on a new slower slider.

Dylan Coleman: Coleman lost 2.4 MPH on his fastball average between 2022 and 2023. His BB/9 ballooned from 4.90 to 9.33. If he can regain his form though his splits were incredible in 2022: .596 OPS vs RHB, .646 vs LHB.

Luis Contreras: He had a 12.8 K/9 between AA and AAA.

Shawn Dubin: Dubin's slash line at home was actually pretty impressive .196BA/.323OBP/.268SLG/.591OPS. He got thrashed on the road in the PCL.

JP France: Opponents hit just .183BA and slugged .237SLG against France's changeup. Just part of the reason France held LHB to a .678 OPS against him.

Ray Gaither: in only nine innings in the arizona fall league gaither only allowed one run as a reliever. LHB had a .642 OPS against him in Corpus.

Luis Garcia: The astros are targeting July for his return. Before getting hurt he was posting an impressive 34.3 Chase %.

Colton Gordon: LHB had a .516 ops against Gordon.

Cristian Javier: Javier's K% fell 12.1% in 2023. Despite this Javier still had one of the 15 best four-seamers in baseball.

Rhett Kouba: RHB only hit .641 against Kouba. A pitcher that relies on his command, he had a BB/9 of 1.9 in corpus. In sugar land it went to 7.0 BB/9.

Joel Kuhnel – Kuhnel elected FA after being DFA'd by the Astros but came back on a minor league deal. In limited time in the majors with the Astros Kuhnel generated an impressive 57.1 GB%.

Seth Martinez: in 2023 Martinez inherited 17 baserunners. None of them scored.

Lance McCullers Jr – McCullers is also not expected back until july. McCullers was in the midst of his greatest season yet with a 2.28 ERA before getting hurt in 2022.

Cole McDonald: RHB had a .519 ops against McDonald

Rafael Montero: Starting in July, Montero Posted a 2.91 ERA

Parker Mushinski: Mushinski actually did better on the road in 2023 with a .624 OPS against compared to a .788 OPS against at home

Oliver Ortega: Ortega kept a 1.82 ERA in the minors in 2023. LHB had a .377 OPS against him.

Ryan Pressly: Pressly added more Championship win probability(cWPA = 7.72%) than any other pitcher on the astros

Tayler Scott: Scott was born in South Africa. LHB hit .574 against him in the minors

Bennett Sousa: In only 14 ABs LHB hit .143 against Sousa. (shame manfred killed the loogy)

Drew Strotman: Strotman had an unlucky .342 BABIP against him. Hopefully could become a nice depth starter, or maybe a move to the bullpen will help him.

Wander Suero: LHB had a .471 OPS against Suero.

Misael Tamarez: Opponents had a .695 OPS against Tamarez at home.

Jose Urquidy: Urquidy did much better on the road this season, to the tune of a .676 OPS against him.

Framber Valdez: Framber has the 5th best curveball in baseball, according to statcast

Justin Verlander: According to statcast Verlander has a top 20 Slider and Fastball.

Forrest Whitley: RHB had a .582 OPS against Whitley. This move to the pen may work well for him.

Jose Abreu: After coming off the IL, Abreu posted a 128 wRC+.

Jose Altuve: Altuve nearly surpassed his RBI count in 2022 (57), in 51 less games in 2023(51).

Yordan Alvarez: Yordan tied his 2022(97) RBI total in 21 less games in 2023(97). His OPS was .226 higher on the road.

Luke Berryhill: Berryhill is an aspiring country singer. He had a .371 OBP in sugar land.

Alex Bregman: Bregman had a .906 OPS in wins. He had a .667 OPS in Losses

Trey Cabbage: Cabbage was in the 78th percentile for sprint speed. He had a 128 wRC+ (that's league adjusted).

Victor Caratini: Caratini was darvish's personal catcher. Caratini is in the 89th percentile for framing, something yainer struggles with.

Zach Dezenzo: Dezenzo hit .407 in Ashville this year. He cooled off a little after making the jump to corpus.

Yainer Diaz: Yainer's OPS at catcher was .409 higher than when he DH'd.

Mauricio Dubon: Dubon doubled his previous single season HR record(5) in 2023(10). His OPS in CF was .285 higher than at 2b (in about 207 fewer ABs).

Chris Gittens: In AAA before going to NPB Gittens had a 1.084 OPS, including a 1.339 OPS vs LHP

Quincy Hamilton: His OPS vs LHP was .912

David Hensley: Hensley had a 10.6 BB% in his limited major league time

Corey Julks: Julks was in the 92nd percentile for arm value.

Pedro Leon: Leon's BA jumped .016 in 2023. He also produces some of the best bat speed in the system

Joey Loperfido: Loperfido had a 143 wRC+ in corpus this season. He finished the year in sugar land.

Grae Kessinger: Kessinger graded out as +3 OAA. His OPS against LHP was also .135 higher.

Dixon Machado: Dixon walked(51) more than he struck out (48) in sugar land.

Chas McCormick: Chas pinch hit 7 times, He was hit by a pitch twice in those 7 ABs. His OPS in LF is .090 higher in 2023.

Jacob Melton: In September, Melton slashed .289BA/.333OBP/.644SLG for a .978OPS He only played two games in AA outside of September.

Jake Meyers: Meyers OPS vs teams with a record greater than .500 was .767. His OPS vs teams worse than .500 was .579. His 9 OAA makes him by far our best defensive outfielder.

Miguel Palma: Palma had a 105 wRC+ in Asheville. For a defensive catcher, his offense is starting to pick up.

Jeremy Pena: Pena walked almost out twice as often, and struck out less in 2023. In 2022 he stole 11 bases at the price of being caught twice. in 2023 he stole 13 bases but was caught 9 times.

Cesar Salazar: Salazar caught 22% of batters trying to steal a base in sugar land. His 2.01 pop time is quite good.

Jon Singleton: Singleton had a 13.7 BB% during his time in houston.

CJ Stubbs: Slashed .254AVG/.391OBP/.592SLG for a .982 OPS in the month of august.

Kyle Tucker: Tucker's OPS at home: .785 OPS, Away: .951

Will Wagner: Wagner slashed .436AVG/.470OBP/.628SLG for a 1.098 OPS in september to finish out the season

Shay Whitcomb: Whitcomb had a .832 OPS vs RHP. Was tied for Minor League lead in HR (35).

These aren't the most important stats for everyone, just ones that I found interesting. I tried to at least have one positive stat for everyone so some times sample sizes are way too small.

By trying to find the positives in players though i definitely found some interesting stats i otherwise probably wouldn't have found with a shout out to seth martinez and jake meyers for most interesting positive stats i found.
