Texas state government introduces bill to tear down public education and subsidize private

Looks like the Republicans have decided to tear down our public education system and subsidize their wealthy friends with a voucher system for privates education.

It is time to vote these people out. House Bill 1 would make an educational savings account program available to 25,000 Texas students in its first year, with increased participation to follow.

You can argue this is giving people school choice but with only 25000 people being eligible, this is a direct handout to wealthy donors and fundamentalist religious schools who now want our tax money to fund private schools with zero oversight.
