Texans MUST run the ball against Chiefs… In KC’s 4 losses this year, opposing teams averaged 179 yards RUSHING
I know we hate when O'Brien forces the run when it's seemingly not working (i.e. Hyde in first half vs Bills), but I think our only shot at winning on Sunday is with a heavy ground game. Maybe not groundbreaking news, but it was pretty staggering looking back at the Chief's 4 losses, they gave up monster performances to opposing RBs both on the ground and short dump offs in the air. Obviously controlling the clock and keeping Mahomes/Hill/Kelce off the field is the recipe for success. Not many teams will beat the Chiefs in a shootout.
Hyde 20+ carries with 3-5 dump offs/screens to Duke Johnson, combined with efficient play from Watson = Texans best chance at a Win.
Obviously none of this means anything if our defense/secondary gets destroyed, which I think is my #1 fear above all else for this game.
- KC lost 19-13 to Colts

- KC lost 31-24 to Texans
