Texan League of Legends Fan Here. WTF Do I Do to Not Die in H-Town?

Alright.

So, here's my issue: technically, I have lived in Texas all my life. Despite that, I have never driven in H-town outside the middle of the night at 4am to avoid rush hour traffic. Also, it was through Houston, not in and around Houston. Why? Because I grew up in a small RGV town and then moved to another small-town far away. I'm used to 'I can pretty much count how many cars I pass a day in one hand' levels of traffic. Multi-lane freeways? What's that?

As such… Houston is quite… daunting.

I know the basics: don't go W of downtown on I-10, I-69 down S can be a deathtrap at rush hour by those multicolored overpass bridge region [I dunno what it's called], the Galleria is a trap, and the hotels around NRG Stadium is asking to get your car broken into.

Problem is, I don't know where to go and how to get there. Ideally, somewhere within walking distance of the metro to go to NRG Stadium and where my car can be safe n sound. I have been debating the hotels near Rice University, but then comes the problem of how to get there.

I am coming to Houston through the Texarkana region. Is US-59/I-69S the least stressful pathway to Rice? Is that even a good area? When does rush hour end and pick back up again? I'm trying to plot an arrival time at daylight, squeezing it in before lunch, but after morning rush. Should I even be shooting for that window, or should I just shoot for some other time slot?

Sadly, no family to mooch off of visit in this area, so no way I can just arrive *too* early. Not unless I wanna pay for a hotel night but only use 4 hours of it…

And that's, like, … $200. :')

Thank you so much for your assistance!

P.S. Golden Guardians are ♥but you are ok, too, TSM.
