Termite/insect management strategy

I have a townhouse here just outside loop with no yard. I’ve had a pest control come out once per year to do yearly “inspections”. I do not feel that they’ve really done anything. I’m ignorant on termite/carpenter behavior. I’ve seen infestation impacts at family’s house and I’m freaked out.

Been quoted $500-800 for treatments. What’s the best strategy for me to hire some preventative maintenance here? 1600’ sq. ft.
